Model Workshop

Model Workshop

The Sydney Heritage Fleet Model Workshop evolved from Phil Renouf’s model making activities. A Naval Architect and former President of our organisation, Phil generously shared his skills and enthusiasm with all interested in ship model making.

The workshop, located at Wharf 7, Pyrmont, is named the “Phil Renouf Model Workshop” in commemoration of his great contribution to the Sydney Heritage Fleet.

The scope of activities ranges across repairing, building (from scratch or kit ) and renovating models of all types using a wide range of materials; the prime objective being to generate funds for the Sydney Heritage Fleet. A growing portion of the workshop activity involves third party commissions which generate revenue for the Fleet and propagate awareness and understanding of the Fleet’s activities to a wider public.

New participants are always welcome but must have demonstrated previous experience.

The workshop has gratefully received donations of equipment and materials from retiring model makers and shipwrights!
